Skiing in Himalayas is done from Jan- March only. Presently only one ski slope has electric lifts. i.e in  Auli in Gharwal Himalayas. Much of the skiing is done in Solang Nala ,near Manali (Himachal Pradesh).

Skiing in Manali
Solang Nala: Situated 17 kms. from Manali-it offers a unique experience which even is shocking for people who had visited this place in summers. A vast snow field and one of the best slope which is safe and secure for both tourist and skier.A moderate level of hotels which suits almost every budget.

Skiing in Auli
Auli: is in Gharwal Himalayas on Haridwaar-Badrinath road lies Joshimath and Auli is just 3 kms from here. A famous ski slope with electric lifts all state of art from France. But skiers prefer Solang Nala due to its long slopes and facilities.
VIRGIN SLOPES & DISTANT DREAMS : - There are many many virgin slopes in remote places although lesser known but availability of hotels might not be there. If you are a certain level of skier and would love to live in tented accommodation - do quote your interest in detail while communicating with us! info@himadventures.net

What to wear
• Woolen Cap - absolutely necessary since you lose much body warmth through your head.
• Warm socks - several pairs (thin and thick) that can be layered and worn
• Gloves and/or mittens
• Scarf or muffler
• Pullovers/Sweaters/Sweat shirts
• Thermal underwear (longjohns)
• Wind proof jacket
• Dark glasses and sun block - you'll be surprised at how strong the glare of the snow is and how the UV rays can burn your skin even though you may never see the sun.
• Snow boots or trekking boots.
